pmd*CRC G14: Architecture and Alteration of the Lawn Hill Platform, in relation to the Termite Range Fault Corridor and the Century massive sulphide deposit, Mt Isa region, Australia
Mr B. Jupp
Funding for 2006: $83,000 (pmd*CRC)
This project focuses on the mineralisation architecture and alteration in the Century district along the Termite Range Fault corridor (TRFC) in the Lawn Hill platform of the Mt Isa region. The project will investigate mineralisation potential in the region through an understanding of the geological evolution with regard to structures active at the time(s) of mineralisation. This information will be synthesized in a digital 3D geometric model of important geological features. Hypotheses for mineralisation will be generated from this synthesis and these will be tested using a range of numerical models and simulations of the combinations of processes thought to be relevant to mineralisation.
