The School of Geosciences strives for excellence in research and teaching. It aims to achieve this by;

• establishing a stimulating environment for its academic and research staff, and research and undergraduate students

• fostering enthusiasm for learning and research

• enhancing our reputation for scientific excellence at both the national and international levels

• striving to establish the best possible research and teaching facilities

• attracting the best possible academic, research and support staff, and postgraduate and undergraduate students

• engaging collaboratively with industry, government, and other academic centres

• providing a focus for scientific innovation, community leadership, and professional development
